The Halifax County Public Schools Education Foundation hosted the 26th annual Jeff Nelson Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday at Green’s Folly Golf Course. 

The Halifax County Gun Club will be hosting their Frank Davis annual SCTP shoot Sept. 30 through Oct. 3 at 6200 Philpott Highway.

The Green’s Folly Golf Course hosted the 17th annual 37TH Masonic District golf tournament on Aug. 27, where the Green’s Folly team composed of Chris Dockell, Brandon Harris, David Day and Matt Guill were crowned as the champions, shooting a match low of 52.

Running and inspiring others are the motivational drivers in Steve Scott’s life. The Danville resident first started running at the age of 54. Five years later at the age of 59, Scott is a marathon runner.

The Halifax County Minor all-star baseball team looked to continue their title run but fell short of the championship game placing third in the Virginia state tournament.

The Halifax County O-Zone all-stars started off the tournament hot winning their first two contests but lost their next two contests against Patrick County and Appomattox.

The Halifax County all-star Ponytails began their state tournament run July 9 in Charlotte Court House at the Central Middle School.

Halifax Dixie Minors all-stars took on Prince George County on Wednesday where Halifax had gotten out to a fast start this time scoring four runs in the bottom of the first and never looking back. 

The Halifax County Dixie Boys all-stars game was postponed on Saturday due to weather, however, was rescheduled for Monday where the boys beat down on Madison Heights winning the contest by slaughter rule after three innings played with a final score of 16-1.

The Halifax County Dixie Ponytails all-stars win again.

The Halifax County O-Zone all-stars started off the state tournament hot winning their first two contests but lost their most recent game against Patrick County.

The Halifax County coach pitch all-stars are in the championship game of the state tournament and are currently 4-0 in with wins against Goochland, Dinwiddie, Charlotte and Madison Heights.
