A new AAU baseball program based in Halifax County and surrounding areas, 434 Supreme Extreme Sports (Academy), is holding signups May 15 at the carwash in Riverdale, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Youth ages 11-18 are eligible to sign up for the baseball program, which takes the place of the Southside Panthers AAU team.

Coaches as well as players are needed to complete the roster. All coaches are required to pass a background check through AAU, and all players must have at least a C grade average in order to play.

COVID-19 protocols will be in place for anyone participating in the league.

An AAU team for football ages 11-14 and basketball for ages 11-18 will also be introduced this fall, if restrictions associated with COVID-19 are lifted.
