Ricky Boyd of South Boston made it a sweep of last week’s Gazette-Virginian Professor Pigskin Football Contest.

Submitting multiple entries, Boyd was the only contest entrant to have as many as 14 correct picks on the 15-game slate. He also had the only two contest entries that had 13 correct picks. As a result, Boyd will take home all three prizes for a total of $60.

While Boyd was at the top of the field, there were a lot of contestants right on his heels. Nine contest entry blanks had 12 correct picks, nine more had 11 correct picks and 11 entry blanks had 10 correct picks.

Professor Pigskin invites everyone to join in the fun of the contest each week. The official contest entry blank appears in the sports section of The Gazette-Virginian each Monday during the contest season.

All entries, whether turned in at the office of The Gazette-Virginian or submitted by mail, must be received by 5 p.m. Friday in order to be eligible for judging.
