The Halifax County Chamber of Commerce is holding its 6th Annual Fall Classic Tournament Friday. The one-day tournament will host over 30 teams at Halifax County Country Club for what is sure to be another close competition.

The tournament is in a four-man scramble format with tee times at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

“This tournament gives business leaders the opportunity to network with others while promoting their businesses as well,” said golf tournament committee member Brandee Lloyd. “This year we have fantastic prizes that any participant will be glad to win,” she added.

The tournament will include thousands of dollars in prizes for a ball drop, closest-to-the-pin, longest drive and hole-in-one. Golfers will have the opportunity to take home a Subaru Crosstrek, sponsored by Terry Volkswagen Subaru, for a hole-in-one on hole eight.

A hole-in-one shoot-out will be held following the tournament. Twenty golfers will have the opportunity to test their luck from 140 yards from the hole. The cash prize for the shoot-out is $50,000.

Proceeds will support chamber programs and services and workforce services at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center.
