The Halifax County High School junior varsity volleyball team earned its first win of the season Tuesday night with a 2-0 victory over Martinsville High School at Halifax County High School.

The Comets won in straight sets by scores of 25-14 and 25-18.

Ashlyn Strickland led the team in service points with 15, with 8 of them being aces. Shamya Hankins followed with six service points that included two aces. Katie Reaves was next in line with five service points that included one ace. Tessy Henderson and Kate Jackson also had an ace.

Henderson and Hankins led the team in kills with the two players getting three kills each. Reaves had two kills.

Kate Jackson, Greysen Terry, Destiny Talbott and Jadyn Harlow all had one dig.
