County native signs to play at Tennessee State

Deaja Richardson is a native of Halifax County and played many games at the South Boston Recreation Center. Richardson started showing interest in basketball in the fourth grade and now resides in Kernersville, North Carolina. She currently plays for Westridge Academy, who finished the 2017-2018 season ranked #9 from USA Today and currently is 5-0 to begin their season. On Nov. 21 she signed to play division basketball at Tennessee State University. Richardson’s proud parents are Derrick and Lyndsey Richardson, and she has three siblings, Kyarra, Derrick Jr. and Elijah. Her grandparents are James and Carolyn Richardson.
