Radford University golfer and South Boston resident Peter Gasperini had a good outing, finishing in a tie for ninth place in last week’s 63rd Eastern Amateur Golf Tournament at Elizabeth Manor Golf and Country Club in Portsmouth.

Gasperini posted three rounds in the 60s enroute to carding a seven-under-par total of 273. His four rounds in the tournament were 66, 70, 69 and 68.

Notre Dame golfer Hunter Ostrom won the tournament championship in a three-way playoff with a birdie on the second playoff hole. Ostrom, Christopher White of Garden City, New York, and Kevin Johnson of Bethesda, Maryland, were tied with a 13-under-par 267 at the end of regulation play.
