Junior golfers from Halifax Country Club took home top honors in the Southside Piedmont Junior Golf Association’s second tournament of the year on June 30 at Nottoway River Country Club in Blackstone.

Last week in the first tournament of the season, Jackson Grant was the winner in the boys 7-9-year-old division with his twin brother, Brady, finishing as runner up. In last week’s event in Blackstone, Brady outdueled his brother to finish in the top spot with a score of 36. Jackson finished in second place with a score of 39.

Camden Saunders and Noah O’Kelly finished third and fourth in the 7-9-year old-division with scores of 45 and 48.

In the 10-11-year-old boys division, Owen Mason tied with the lowest score of 43, but finished in second place after falling in the playoff.

Joe Roberts posted a score of 50 in the boys 14-15-year-old division and Peyton Murray earned a second-place finish in the girls 14-17-year-old division.

A match was scheduled for Tuesday at Hat Creek Country Club in Brookneal.
