The Spurs knocked down five 3-pointers but it wasn’t enough to lead them past the Magic as they fell 62-43 Saturday afternoon.
The Spurs knocked down three of their 3s in the second half but the Magic shot well from the floor in the final two quarters, making 11 field goals in the second half to offset the Spurs’ hot distance shooting. In all, the Magic outscored the Spurs 33-21 in the final two frames to seal the victory and break open a tight game.
Jamir Ford led the Magic with a game-high 20 points while Conner Harris added 15 and Zavion Brooks rounded out three players in double-digit scoring with 10 points.
Geno Ortiz led the Spurs with 18 points with 16 of them coming on a game-high four 3-pointers. Nicholas Easley finished close behind with 17.
The Magic knocked down 12 field goals in the first half while the Spurs drained a pair of 3s and five field goals to lead to a 29-22 game in favor of the Magic at the half.
The Magic move to 5-0 on the season.
