The 16th annual James Hilary Glidewell Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament was held at Greens Folly Golf Course recently, and tournament organizers with the 37th Masonic District say it was big success.
A total of 30 teams playing across three flights participated in the tournament. The 37th Masonic District also wanted to thank all of the golfers, volunteers and sponsors for helping make the tournament a success again this year. Spaulding Equipment supplied the zero-turn lawnmower, Bridgeview Express donated a set of tires, and they also wished to thank ODEC, Sign Design and Greens Folly Golf Course.
In the A flight, the team of Chris Dockrell, Tony Roberts, David Day and Billy Ford won first place representing team O’Reilly Auto Parts. David Day, E.C. Lewis, Walt Robinson and Jay Henderson with Bridgeview Express #2 finished in second place, and Jason Milam, William Thompson, Clinton Thompson and Drew Atkins with team Milam finished in third.
In the B flight, the E.C. Lewis Jr. Construction team of E.C. Lewis Jr., Irvin Carter, Doug Newcomb and Annette Lewis won first place. Tony Roberts, Chris Young, Craig Young and Rodney Watts of the Franklin Garage team finished in second place followed by the Sons of American Legion Post 8 team of Brad Smith, Jimmy Crews, Melvin Dawson and Rodney Watts in third place.
The C flight winners were the WJH Trucking team of Matt Hastings, Adam Conner, Chad Conner and Joey Hastings. The Coastal Underground Inc. team of Bryan Tyler, Dan Crenshaw, Johnathon Miliam and Doug Facchina finished in second place, and the BC Boyz team of Josh Perkins, Gene Perkins, Tony Lowery and Mark Smith finished in third place.
Longest drive honors for the women went to Kassidy Irby and for the men Dan Crenshaw. Closest to the pin winners were Christopher Young on hole two, Drew Lewis on hole 5, Tony Roberts on hole nine, Daniel Roller on hole 12 and Randall Bordelon on hole 16 where he also won free tires at Bridgeview Express.
