Larry Roller of Scottsburg took home the win in the latest installment of the Professor Pigskin contest, turning in a 13-2 slate.

Roller and Darryl Carter of South Boston each picked 13 winners out of 15 games, with Roller emerging the winner in the tiebreaker, coming closest to the final score of the Halifax County High School -Tunstall High School game.

Roller takes home $30 for his first-place entry, while Carter wins $20 for second-place.

The contest for third-place was even closer, with eight contestants turning in 12-3 slates. Again, the tiebreaker came into play, with Maurice Terry of Halifax and Glenn Palladino of South Boston remaining in a tie for third place. As a result, the pair will split the $10 third prize, with both Terry and Palladino receiving $5 each.

Last week’s contest was another close one, with 11 contestants turning in 11-4 slates. Three contestants turned in 10-5 slates, and 10 others had nine correct picks in a week where a number of contestants missed the Georgia Tech-Virginia, Duke-Notre Dame and Illinois-Michigan State games.

This week marks the final week for this season’s Professor Pigskin Football Contest.
