Rain fell steadily throughout the day on Saturday and into Sunday, postponing the NC GameOn Sports Summer World Series that was set to take place throughout the county and in North Carolina.

The decision was made to cancel all of Saturday’s games in Halifax early Saturday morning with hopes of the games in Youngsville and Roxboro being played. A few hours later rain forced the cancellation of the games in North Carolina as well.

Tournament officials set a 5 p.m. deadline on Saturday to make a decision on how to play out the weekend but as the day went on, the rain became heavy at times, and it was determined that the tournament would be postponed.

NC GameOn Sports announced that the Summer World Series would be rescheduled for Aug. 29-30 at the same locations.
