The number of unbeaten teams in the South Boston Business & Industrial/30 & Over Basketball League has been trimmed from four to one.

Tvilum/Sentara took sole possession of first place by edging previously undefeated Benchmark 55-53 on Sunday. Previously undefeated Italian Delight fell to Presto 30-29, with Presto picking up its first win of the season. Youth Coaches, which had won its season opener, also was bumped from the ranks of undefeated teams thanks to a 56-43 loss to Polywood.

The results from Sunday’s session created a logjam in the standings behind league-leading Tvilum/Sentara, with five teams gathered one game behind.

That circumstance sets up some interesting contests for this weekend. Among the highlight games for this Sunday are a 3 p.m. matchup between Aquatics (2-1) and Tvilum/Sentara (3-0).

Other games to be watched closely are a 5 p.m. game between Italian Delight and Eaton Corp., both of which stand 2-1. Another interesting contest will be the matchup between Youth Coaches and AWNC I, both of which are 1-1 on the season.

Four players earned Player of the Week honors from Sunday, including Demetrius Burrell, who helped lead the Tvilum/Sentara effort with a 20-point night that included 10 points in each half.

Michael Hatcher of Eaton Corp. scored a team-high 23 points, 15 in the first half to help lead his team over ABB, and Terrance Boyd of Polywood scored 18 points to pace his team’s effort in its win over Youth Coaches. Also earning Player of the Week kudos was Frankey Jacobs of AWNC II who scored 12 points in helping his team to its narrow win over Dollar General.
