Tvilum/Sentara appears to be well on track to the South Boston Business & Industrial/30 & Over Basketball League regular-season title. The league leader topped Polywood 85-53 in Sunday’s session to remain unbeaten at 10-0. Benchmark, which had a bye, and Eaton Corporation, which topped Presto 49-34 remain tied in second place, two-and-a-half games behind Tvilum/Sentara.

Behind them is a major logjam in the middle of the league standings as teams battle for the better seedings for the league’s post-season tournament. Youth Basketball Coaches and AWNC I are locked in a tie for fifth place, with AWNC II right on their heels, just one game back.

Aquatics, which had been in the thick of that mix, is no longer eligible for league play. The team forfeited Sunday’s game to Italian Delight, with this being the team’s second forfeit of the season. After two forfeits, a team is no longer eligible for league play.

Three players have been recognized for Player of the Week honors in recognition of their excellent play in last Sunday’s session. Tevin Edmonds scored 28 points, 16 in the second half, to help lift his team to its win over Polywood.

Marquis Younger of Eaton Corporation scored 22 points, 17 of them in the first half, to help lead his team to its win over Presto. Terrance Calloway of AWNC I tallied 19 points to help pace his team’s effort in the AWNC I victory over Goodyear.
