Halifax County High School junior Kevon Ferrell was named to the Virginia High School League 2020 Class 4 boys all-state basketball team on Monday.

The Piedmont District recently announced its all-district teams for girls basketball, and three Comets were named to the list.

After a strong season last year, capped off by a district championship, the Halifax County girls tennis team is looking to go even farther this year with twelve returning players.

The Halifax County Middle School boys soccer team traveled to Patrick County on Wednesday to try and keep their record unblemished for the year. The Lions were able to come away with the 3-0 victory and their record now stands at 4-0.

The Halifax boys tennis team was on the court for the first time this spring on Tuesday when they traveled to take on Jefferson Forest. The Comets have not defeated Jefferson Forest in their annual scrimmage in the last three years, but Halifax left with a 7-2 victory.
