Halifax County High School head football coach Rob Seneseny talks to his team after their win over Jefferson Forest on Oct. 1.

The Halifax County High School Comets are preparing to take on their biggest rival in GW-Danville on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Tuck Dillard Memorial Stadium.

The Comets are currently 5-0 on the season and are tied for first place with GW-Danville in the Piedmont District, both sitting at a district record of 2-0.

However, the Comets are the last undefeated team in the Piedmont District.

“We prepare for this game just like every other game,” said head coach Rob Senseney.

He said the Comets would be physical and look to execute on offense, defense and special teams.

This will be the biggest game of the season up to this point and will give one of these two teams a clear lead in the playoff race.

“Our goal is to be a playoff team. We have to execute and play physical against everyone to achieve that,” Senseney concluded.
