The Halifax County Middle School football team presented their athletes with their end of season awards after their undefeated season on Thursday. Lions players who received awards posed for a quick picture, (from left) Christian Palmer, who received the Defensive Lineman of the Year award, Devarion Hankins, who received the Defensive Player of the Year award, Montavious Marrero, who was awarded with the Offensive Player of the Year award, Donaven Pumphrey who received the Offensive Lineman of the Year award, and Ti’Veon Polk, who was awarded the Coaches Award. Not pictured is Kion Tucker, who received the Most Improved Player award.

The Halifax County Middle School Lions football team gave out their end of season awards on Thursday after their undefeated season in which they claimed the Jr. Piedmont District Championship.

Head coach Kenneth Day told the team he was proud of all their success this season and mentioned that the individual awards are to recognize individuals for their contributions this season, but that the team success is most important to him.

Awards handed out were the Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Lineman of the Year, Offensive Linemen of the year, the Most Improved Player award and the Coaches Award.

The Defensive Player of the Year award was given to eighth grader Devarion Hankins.

The Offensive Player of the Year award was given to eighth grader Montavious Marrero, who led the team in touchdowns this season.

The Halifax County Middle School Lions football team posed for one last picture at their end of season awards on Thursday. The team celebrated their undefeated season and Jr. Piedmont District Championship.

The Defensive Lineman of the Year award was given to eighth grader Christian Palmer.

The Offensive Player of the Year award was given to seventh grader Donaven Pumphrey.

The Most Improved Player award was given to eighth grader Kion Tucker, who was not in attendance to accept his award.

The Coaches Award was given to eighth grader Ti’Veon Polk.
