Three Halifax County High School teams remain alive in the 5A North Region Conference 16 Tournament with all three in action Wednesday, and the Comets baseball team playing at home.

The number one seed Halifax County High School baseball team will host Patrick Henry High School-Ashland Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Halifax County High School in a tournament semi-final game.

The number five seed Halifax County High School softball team (12-7 overall) topped Orange County High School 11-0 Monday night and will go on the road to face number one seed Atlee High School in a tournament semi-final round game set for a 6 p.m. start at Atlee High School.

Halifax County High School’s varsity boys soccer team, the tournament’s third seed, topped Orange County High School 2-1 Monday night and will travel to face second seed Albemarle High School in Charlottesville Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The Comets girls soccer team’s season ended Monday night with a 5-0 loss to Patrick Henry High School of Roanoke.

Admission for the games is $6 per person. No local passes will be honored.
