One of his dreams came true when he won the 20-lap Virginia State Police HEAT Hornets Division race on May 6 at South Boston Speedway and earned his first career victory in four years of racing in the division.

Andrea Ruotolo (12) battles to maintain control of his car as Jason DeCarlo (54) gets out of shape beside him in the second turn on the tenth lap of the 20-lap Virginia State Police HEAT Hornets Division race on May 6 at South Boston Speedway. Ruotolo, DeCarlo and D.J. Moser (20) were engaged in a close three-way battle for the lead at the time. Ruotolo kept his car straight, and went on to edge Moser to score his first career win in the Virginia State Police HEAT Hornets Division at South Boston Speedway.
